STUFF celebrates first year of championing mental health and healthy masculinity


STUFF™, the Aussie men’s personal care brand with purpose, is celebrating its first year of  championing young men’s mental health. 

STUFF has fast become a household fixture in its first year, having exploded into the bedrooms and  bathrooms of men all over the country. But it’s only just the beginning for STUFF, as they plan to break  out onto the shelves of some of Australia’s leading pharmacies and supermarkets in 2022.

With absolutely no nasties like parabens or aluminium, STUFF is the Aussie  born and bred brand that’s challenging industry norms and redefining a new generation of modern,  health masculinity. 

Founder and CEO of STUFF and The Man Cave, Hunter Johnson, said that a year on, STUFF’s mission  is more important than ever. 

"We know that suicide is the country’s leading cause of death for guys aged under 45; one in five boys  will experience mental illness before the age of 18; and family violence kills at least one woman every  week. We believe this is preventable if we invest in initiatives that allow men to break free of limiting  constructs and express themselves more freely,” Hunter said. 

“Consumer brands shape culture, and there is a huge opportunity for STUFF to help tackle the  escalating crisis around masculinity. It is urgent that we find new ways to do so,” he added. 

To mark the first anniversary of supporting men through this new era of masculinity, STUFF has launched its very own podcast, hosted by Hunter. Kicking off on Monday 28 February, ‘REAL STUFF’ will dive into all things health and healthy masculinity, through real, vulnerable conversations with  Aussies like Dyson Heppel, Tom Harkin, Dyl Buckley, Holly Ransom, Chanel Contos, Stu Gregor, Dr.  Zac Seidler, Paul Bassat and more. Aussies can tune into REAL STUFF via Spotify, Apple Music, and  the STUFF website.  

“REAL STUFF will be the catalyst of important conversations, inviting Aussies to take their mask off, to  sit down with their mates and talk openly. After facing over two years’ in and out of lockdowns, Aussies’  mental health has beared the brunt. It’s time to normalise being comfortable with the uncomfortable,  and being vulnerable with our friends, families and support networks,” Hunter said.  

In the premiere episode, Hunter sits down with List Cloggers legends Dyl Buckley and Dan Gorringe,  to discuss why growing up as an Australian male means it’s so hard to talk openly about feelings before  we hit crisis point.  

“It shouldn’t be hard to tell someone how you’re feeling and how much you love them,” says Dyl. “It  feels so good to talk.” 

STUFF proudly partners with The Man Cave, Australia’s leading preventative mental health and  emotional intelligence charity that empowers boys to become great men. With endorsement from The  Royal Family, The Man Cave’s life-changing programs have touched over 20,000 boys throughout  Australia to date.  

Each STUFF sale contributes to sponsoring an Aussie boy through The Man Cave mental health program. With the help of its customers, STUFF has enabled over 200 boys to experience the program  in the last three months alone and expects to sponsor up to 1,500 more in 2022.

“We’re incredibly proud of what STUFF has achieved in its first year, and how many lives it has touched  through both The Man Cave program and quite simply, through normalising uncomplicated personal  care,” Hunter said.
