Wedding season is upon us, and although all eyes are on the bride - grooms are also known to feel nervous in the lead up to the big day. Confidence is incredibly important in all aspects of life, and a large part of this is feeling your best both physically and mentally, especially on your wedding day. However, confidence doesn't always come easily, and for many it's easier said than done. It takes time, patience and consistency in your day-to-day routine to balance and be able to control your emotions. With a little advance planning, these tips should help you enjoy your special day instead of just surviving it.

  1. Balance, balance, balance
One of the key aspects of feeling your best is nourishing your body with the best. With millions of diet plans and exercise routines available across the web, it is important to find one that works with your body and lifestyle. The second aspect is to not put too much pressure on yourself - balance is vital. When it comes to your special day, putting too much pressure on yourself will only cause unnecessary stress which can then result in throwing out your hard work and balance we all strive for.

  2. Don’t forget to smile
It’s your wedding day – yes it can be overwhelming and stressful but you’re marrying the love of your life! The power of a smile goes a long way. Smiling will make you not only look a million bucks to your guests and future partner, but more importantly feel it. Research from SmileDirectClub found Australians have a positive impression of people that smile, citing that they find people who smile at them warm (47%), welcoming (62%) and confident (31%), so to look and feel more confident – don't forget to smile!

  3. You just need 10 minutes a day
Consistency is key when it comes to exercise and working out daily has both excellent short term and long-term effects. Research shows physical exercise can help you sleep better, work as an antidepressant by releasing endorphins and reduce anxiety and its symptoms

It takes as little as 10 minutes a day to help you maintain fitness levels and show long term physical and mental effects. If wedding stress is on your mind, find the time to get up and move for 10 minutes. Whether it’s a walk, a workout in your lounge room, a swim at the beach or local pool or a sweaty gym class it all adds up.

  1. Invest in what makes you feel good
It’s super important to feel your best on your wedding day – so it’s time to invest in what will make you feel best about yourself so you can look and feel your most confident. Research from SmileDirectClub found almost half (45%) of Aussie adults would change something about their smile, and in return gain confidence through doing so. Find something that would make an impact and prioritise it. The return in investment will be worth it and you will look and feel your most confident self on your big day.
